On any given day you visit MECA, one loud voice seems to carry above the rest, as this particular trainer exhorts his clients to pursue excellence. Ty Jensen proudly claims to be the loudest and most competitive Strength & Conditioning Specialist at MECA, but don’t let that intimidate you. He is passionate about helping clients achieve their full potential – but passion seems to be the word to describe anything to do with Ty.

After excelling at high school and college sports, where he wrestled and played football and baseball, Ty completed a Bachelor of Science Degree in Athletic Training from Alma College in Michigan. Now, he enjoys going toe-to-toe with many of the professional athletes who are MECA clients. Ty enjoys a challenge, especially any challenge that helps him and his clients become fitter and more competitive.
As a Strength & Conditioning Specialist, Ty serves a wide variety of clients, from those seeking general health and wellness to professional athletes. He is well trained to help clients with alleviating pain, strength training, agility training, weight training, speed enhancement, endurance training, and preventing injury.
Ty’s loud manner belies his strong desire to help his clients achieve their highest level of health, fitness, and competitiveness. He says, “It’s fun helping people achieve their full potential, and I will do whatever it takes to get them there.”

MICHAEL, Assistant Strength Coach
Michael Haumesser has been a Strength and Conditioning coach and Personal trainer since 2014. He has experience working with youth to professional athletes, Olympic caliber athletes, business professionals, novice gym goers, experienced weightlifters, and everyone in between. Michael graduated from Eastern Michigan University in 2016 with a Bachelor of Science. He majored in Sports performance and Fitness Entrepreneurship. He is also a certified strength and conditioning coach through the accredited International Sports Science Association.
Michael grew up in northeast Ohio where he was a 4-year letterman wrestler as well as a 4- year captain for his high school wrestling team. In 2009, Michael qualified for the Ohio Freestyle National team. He later walked on the Eastern Michigan University wrestling team for 2 seasons.
Michael has been passionate about fitness and health since he began high school. he believes that exercise is extremely important to improving physical heath but also bettering mental health. As a professional strength and conditioning coach Michael’s goal is to help guide people to become the happiest and healthiest version of themselves through proper resistance training and sustainable lifestyle choices.
LEANNE, Assistant Strength Coach
Leanne joins MECA with an extensive background. Leanne entered the world of athletics in her youth as an elite gymnast and transitioned into a competitive CrossFit athlete. After graduating with a Bachelors in Business Management, Leanne spent several years developing as the operational manager for her family-owned, franchised car dealerships. Her professional career shifted back to sports and fitness when she opened and co-owned a sports performance and CrossFit facility in Canada. Leanne had the opportunity there to train professional athletes and general population clients alike. Throughout the years of operating the gym and coaching, Leanne’s passion for health grew. She expanded her experience into healthcare and was an administrator for various functional and integrative medicine practices in Michigan. Leanne ultimately knew she wanted to return to her love of working one on one with clients, and sought out the opportunity to do so with MECA. With her immense background in business, coaching, nutrition, health and wellness, Leanne provides a comprehensive skill set with a passionate drive to help clients reach their goals.

ALEX, Assistant Strength Coach
Alex found the importance of weight training while getting ready for college football and hiring a personal trainer for himself. Alex had 0 offers for football after only playing his senior year of football and coming from a small high school in South Carolina and had to walk on to his college football team. He enjoys taking on challenges, adapting, and reaching the goals he sets. After football and graduating with a bachelor’s degree in sports management, he wanted to use his passion for weight training to help other people succeed. Alex became a certified personal trainer through National Academy of Sports Medicine soon after and started his training career.
BRYAN, Sports Nutritionist
Bryan’s experience in nutrition and sports performance began when he was an aspiring young athlete looking to improve both his performance and overall health. Bryan spent nearly 10 years racing mountain bikes at an elite level, including 4 years as a division 1 collegiate athlete. During this time, he learned about the vital role that proper nutrition plays in all aspects of life and became fascinated with it. After his racing career concluded, Bryan attended the Nutritional Therapy Association where he studied to become a Functional Nutritional Therapy Practitioner (FNTP). As an FNTP, Bryan takes a “food first” approach when working with clients to help them figure out their own unique nutrition and lifestyle needs to achieve their health and fitness goals.
Most of Bryan’s experience has been in the endurance sports realm. Working at MECA has been an exciting opportunity for Bryan to expand his knowledge and experience in the world of strength and conditioning. He looks forward to getting to know all of his clients and helping them on their health and fitness journey.

DAVID, General Manager
David spent the majority of his life, from a young age through college, participating in a multitude of sports. As a result, he fell in love with the health and fitness component of athletics and has had a burning desire to turn that passion into a career. He attended Saginaw Valley State University where he obtained his bachelor’s degree in secondary education with a focus in biology and physical education. After a long endeavor in hospitality management, David has returned to his passionate roots with MECA but now brings a wealth of customer service and business management experience to the team.
Since MECA started in 2012, the business has done nothing but grow and at an impressive pace. The business eventually grew to a point where it would need an “Operator” and that is where Mike comes in. Mike comes to MECA with 14 years of experience in management with 9 of them being multi-unit management. Mike had previously started as an entry-level employee at his former job and climbed the corporate ladder quickly and at a young age. Mike played a lead role in developing processes and procedures for his former company and brings that and many other skills to the MECA team. Mike has a servant’s heart and loves to help both clients and trainers with whatever their needs may be.
