Athletes who train at Michigan Elite Conditioning for Athletes (MECA) get tangible results they can see and feel. Our personal trainers have worked with college-level, national team-level and professional athletes in more than 40 sports, including football, hockey, soccer, bobsledding and ice skating. They all see their performance significantly improve along with their bodies.
Head Strength Coach and Founder David Lawrence developed the effective MECA approach that gives athletes such dramatic results. Backed by science, our program begins with an individualized assessment, and then builds a personalized strength training, conditioning and nutrition plan unique to the athlete. Athletes who follow the custom program typically see more progress in 3 months than they did in 3-5 years of training on their own or elsewhere.

Went from 237 pounds at 14.8 percent body fat to 255 and 10.8 percent body fat gaining at total of 27 pounds.

Has gained 26 pounds of muscle in the last 10 months while training at MECA and dropped his body fat from 12.6 to 8.0 even.

“I would not still be in the NFL if it wasn’t for training with David at MECA. In 2014, I came in for an evaluation and David showed me what was limiting my speed and power production. In one off-season, I increased my speed and strength more than I had previously done in the last 10 years training in college or the NFL.
